What is Isotretinoin?
Isotretinoin (Accutane, Absorica, Claravis, Amnesteem) is a vitamin A derivative (retinoid) that is the most effective treatment for severe, recalcitrant acne. It is the only medication that can potentially "cure" acne by targeting all four pathogenic factors: sebum production, follicular keratinization, P. acnes bacteria, and inflammation.
