💡 Oven Temperature Tips
Fan/Convection Oven Adjustment
Fan ovens circulate hot air and cook more efficiently. Reduce the temperature by approximately 20°C (25°F) or reduce cooking time by about 10-15% when using a fan oven.
Gas Mark Origin
Gas marks are primarily used in UK recipes and originated from British gas ovens. Gas Mark 4 (350°F/180°C) is considered "moderate" and is the most common baking temperature.
Oven Accuracy
Many ovens run hotter or cooler than the displayed temperature. Consider using an oven thermometer to verify your oven's accuracy for better cooking results.
